Description
- Styling from the 1820s based on the work of Whitson in western North Carolina
- Stock has a pull of about 13.75” and a drop of approximately 3 5/8” and no cast off
- Available in curly maple, walnut or cherry wood or provide your own stock (2 " by 61" by 7" minimum blank size)
- Buttplate is approximately 1.375” in width and 4.5” in height.
- Iron mounted
- 44” custom profiled barrels. Breech .938” and waist approximately .700”. A very nice contoured barrel. It comes standard in square bottom rifling.
- Kibler's CNC Ketland Flintlock
- Kibler's CNC machined double set triggers.
- Stock CNC machined for extremely close tolerances and fine surface finish
- All holes drilled in the stock.
- Minimal work required for part fitting.
- Barrel has all sight dovetails cut, the underlugs are machined into the barrel, and the barrel is drilled and tapped for a White Lightning style touch hole liner which will come pre-installed
- Breech plug is fully machined and shaped and comes fit and installed

In the white

This service is available as an add on to a kit gun order. This is $700 for this service.
A gun provided "in the white" will be completely assembled and functional. The wood will need sanded and finished. The metal will also benefit from some cleanup. This is typically a little light filing on the rough spots followed by a little polishing with abrasive paper. The metal can be left in this condition or can be blued, browned, aged etc.
Your kit will arrive assembled, ready for you to customize and finish.

We recommend the work of talented and experienced gunsmith, Chuck Edwards, for those who would like additional finishing work done on their Kibler Rifle. He can be reached at (573) 421-5098 and his online page is found on Facebook. He has finished out many Kibler rifles and does fantastic work. The pricing will vary depending on the work and should be discussed with Chuck.

I was amazed with how well everything fit, I had to shave off very little to get a nice tight fitment. The Mountain Rifle was well thought out and the metal parts were top notch. Excellent lock and trigger, mine needed no adjustment and function perfectly. The wood is beautiful and was easy to stain and finish. I used Kiblers Nitrate which pulled out the figure in the wood then finished with Tung oil. I used Jax Black on the barrel and got a pleasing color and it was easy to use on the remaining metals. One word of caution, the stock is very long and delicate to handle but when the barrel is pinned into the stock it's a very solid unit. Being a first time builder I was skeptical of pulling it off but the finished product is beautiful and I attribute my success to the quality of the kit. The rifle shoots great and the speed of the ignition is outstanding. Thank you Kibler for the beautiful rifle I proudly own. I'm looking forward to the Hawkin kit for my next build.
I have really been enjoying the build of this rifle. Although I am only about half way through my project, I can not wait to see how it finishes up and to get it sighted in.
This kit is far better made and has much better parts than Italian kits. For instance the screws are not soft and the stock is authentic. I put this kit together in about an hour and a half. I’ve not finished it yet but it’ll require minimal sanding and it took little time and effort to fit the parts. This kit is very accurate to how a rifle that a working man would have owned. Be careful because they were fragile before they were assembled.
This spring 2024 I orderd a Southern mountain rifle It finished & turned out verry well & shoots great in 45 cal. Iliked it so well I ordered one in 40 cal this one I am coustomizing IE toe, plate nose cap, patch box & silver inlays. These kits are extreamly well thought out & well made. Kiblers Longrifles is a pleasure to business with, Extreamly happy with the way the rifles have turned out. When the pair is complete I will send photos of both,

This is very nice piece and after I showed to everyone, they all liked it. Can’t wait to use it during muzzleloader season. I might consider a new project in the future from kibler’s.

Liquid Shipping
Liquids will not ship in the kit box. There are different regulations that apply to the chemicals that we sell and they will need to ship ground, when the kits will ship USPS Priority Mail. Plus, it would really stink if a liquid were to leak on your beautiful new kit!
Order tracking
You will receive tracking information when your item ships. For kits, you will be contacted before shipment and after shipment so there is no need to worry about a kit box shipping when you are out of town. All other packages will ship when available and you will be emailed a tracking link.
