The Real Deal. I used the amber to tint the linseed oil used for finishing my Hawken gun, this after aqua fortis. Came out wonderfully!
I haven't used the range rod. It is a gift for a young reenactor. I appreciate that your range rod doesn't require an adapter to accommodate a jag.
Ive owned several Hawken style rifles over the years and none fit me as well or shoot as good. Kibler kits have changed muzzleloading forever, dont buy one or you'll own several.
the Barn gun kit was easy to put together. I've struggled with other kits and had given up on my ability to get one together. I'm glad I didn't get rid of the few chisels and files I used years ago and I was able to round them up and get this kit together. it truly is a Lock , stock and barrel build which simplifies the process.the Barn gun has already turned out to be my favorite rifle to shoot. thank you Jim and all the staff

This "barn gun" is Kibler #5 for me. It all started with an early production .36 SMR, then a .58 Colonial "deer swatter", then a .54 Woodsruuner for just that and after that a .54 Colonial to celebrate 250 years of America. The .45 barn gun is gonna be just that, as it will be my rural property constant companion. All have been a pleasure to assemble, finish and use. I refrain from using the word "build" because Jim did that for us! Thanks "Clan Kibler".
I haven't received my rifle kit yet so I haven't used the chisels. They are very sharp and look to be good quality. Looking forward to using them when my kit arrives.
Can’t be more pleased. The gun was probably the easiest of the previous 4 other kibler kits I have. I also love the lock . The gun is also extremely accurate. Hats off to Jim and the talented employees that work for him. Customer service and communication is top notch also. Thanks again.

I used this product to darken the background on the engraving on my side plate and on some iron screw heads and it worked really well,where I wanted it darker I gave it more than 1 coat
Not sure I'd go that route on the next one. It made my stock VERY dark with the first coat of sealer/stain. SOME of the grain is still visible but overall the stock is considerably darker than I wanted it to be.
I absolutely love my Southern Mountain Rifle! Huge thanks to the Kibler team for producing such an awesome kit! The build was slightly challenging compared to the Woodsrunner and Fowler, but still and easy kit to put together.
These locks aren't the cheapest, but I think they're the best you can get. When you're pulling the trigger, do you want to have to worry about your lock? If you keep your flint sharp and your touch hole clear I'd be surprised if you ever had a misfire with one of these.
Great product. Plenty in a bottle to do multiple rifles. Very simple to use. Jim also has a YouTube video that demonstrates and explains how to use it.
