This was truly a fun build. This was my fourth Kibler kit and the easiest to build. If you are considering your first kit, this should be it. You will learn the basics of putting a kit together and finishing it. I chose the plain hard maple on Jim's advise, and I'm glad I made that choice. This is not a beautiful gun. It is a copy of working rifle for a person of limited means who needs a way to put food on the table and protect his family in a pinch. Realistically, a .45 or .50 caliber would have probably been more appropriate for this weapon in a historical sense, but I wanted a squirrel rifle that I wasn't afraid to knock around the woods with. I think this one will do nicely. I highly recommend it...actually any Kibler kit would be great!
Beautiful fowler! I ordered my fowler in cherry instead of the traditional Walnut, since I already have several Walnut smooth bores. I chose 16 gauge for the lighter weight. I could not be happier! Arrived on schedule in perfect condition. The packaging is excellent. The Fowler shoots a very nice pattern of birdshot and fairly accurate with a round ball. Thank you Kibler. The best there is, is all I can say. Excellent quality i believe anyone could put this kit together its so easy. Then not to mention the accuracy is out of this world.
Kit looks great, but haven't put it together yet. I assumed the kit came with the buckle? as I did not get a buckle. I called and was told it would follow, so I'm waiting.
They look good haven't tried any of them yet but all but two look like they would work on my woodsrunner
This is a nice gun case that fits just right, providing great protection for my rifle while traveling.
Worked like a charm to remove a stuck ball first outing with my flintlock. Makes cleaning a breeze and well worth the investment!
.45 caliber Cherry Southern mountain flintlock. Light and sleek. A pleasure to shoot and hunt with. Ignition is wicked fast! Such a wonderful rifle. A true heirloom to be cherished.
50. Cal left hand. Barn gun. Fancy curly maple. PERFECT! I love this rifle. The Colerain 1:56 twist 38” barrel shoots dead nuts with 70 grains of 3F Swiss, a .018 ticking patch and a .490 ball. Don’t believe I’ll build and hunt with a more perfect rifle. Thank you for offering something for us wrong handed shooters Jim!
I ordered my kit early anticipating a few months of waiting on the kit. It arrived about a week later! I inspected the kit and have been watching Jim's videos, especially around the details of staining the stock. Unfortunately I have little time to spend putting the rifle together with harvest and winter prep around the farm. Looking forward to hot coffee and my tools in the warm shop about mid January. Left handed arrangement was perfect.
Altho I have always shot left handed this was first gun I've had built for lefthand shooters.

Outstanding lock, stock and barrel! The fit is remarkable and the assembly is second to none; I used your aqua fortis and stain on the cherry stock, as well, as your brown and black darkener on the lock, barrel and furniture. My only regret is this is your only left hand model but I may just start shooting RH to get another kit from you fine folks. :)
I’ve used other brands and the Kibler brand stands out as does all of the products they offer. Many more builds to do from them so much more iron nitrate will be needed. Thanks again Jim and the Team…
I have not had the opportunity to use this on my Barn Gun build, yet. However, I did test it out on some practice maple, and it looks great.
