SMR Work in Progress

I'm still working on my SMR. I'm trying to take it easy and avoid any major blunders. The lock bolt worked out fairly easily. I had to open up the hole in the stock a tiny bit but after that all was well. Also, at first I tightened the bolt a little too much which caused the end of the bolt to protrude too far on the lock side. Easily remedied. I'm still a little frustrated in trying to get the lock/pan completely flush with the barrel. My inletting/chisel skills are non-existent but I'll get there eventually. This is a great kit and I'm very happy.

Replacing rifle lock bolt

The new one and the new washer are both stronger in looks and feel, If the bolt was just a couple turns longer it would flush up with side of the lock to look more finished. One could, of course, inlet the washer into the stock to pick up those few extra turns. I did not want to chance carving any wood.

Shipping

Liquid Shipping

Liquids will not ship in the kit box. There are different regulations that apply to the chemicals that we sell and they will need to ship ground, when the kits will ship USPS Priority Mail. Plus, it would really stink if a liquid were to leak on your beautiful new kit!

Order tracking

You will receive tracking information when your item ships. For kits, you will be contacted before shipment and after shipment so there is no need to worry about a kit box shipping when you are out of town. All other packages will ship when available and you will be emailed a tracking link.

Get in touch
