We Buy Original Muzzleloaders

Every rifle we design starts with an original. Jim studies them, measures them, and learns from the men who built them two hundred years ago. That work never stops, which is why we are always looking for original longrifles, fowlers, and pistols.

If you have one, we would like to see it. Attic guns, family guns, guns you were told were not worth anything. Send photos and whatever you know about it. Jim looks at every submission himself.

We buy outright and we pay you. No consignment, no waiting for a sale, no commission taken out of your check.

One thing to know up front: we buy what we are interested in, which is not the same as buying everything good. If we pass, it says nothing about your gun.

What to send

Photographs do most of the work. The full length from both sides. Pictures of the buttstock area both sides. Phone pictures are fine. Tell us what you know about where it came from, and be honest about anything broken, repaired, or replaced. We would rather hear it from you than find it ourselves.

Originals For Sale

Jim buys originals because he wants to study them, not because he has a plan to resell them. Every so often he is ready to let one go, and when that happens it will be listed here.
