I used this stuff om my kibler fowler on both the barrel and lock and all the bolt heads.It turned the metal instantly black. I rubbed it back with 0000 steel wool at first but it wasnt agressive enough. I then rubbed it back with maroon scotchbright and that did the trick. I got a nice even light satin grey color which is what I was looking for. Looks great. Not too bright but not too dark. I was thinking of browning my kibler southern mountian rifle but I think I will use the Jax Black on that also. Its a nice contrast with the dark maple stock. I highly recomend it for my own taste anyway.
