Happy with this product

Great product. Solid price. Happy with the results. As with any stain, you need to find a piece of practice wood to be sure you are getting the results you are after. Not a lot of information in how or if you should dilute it before applying. So many variables it pays to be confident in your process before committing to your gunstock.

Used Danglers dark brown on a walnut stock and it

Used Danglers dark brown on a walnut stock and it worked great. Applied two coats initially, then rubbed back to a lighter hue. The danglers really highlighted the grain and gave a nice dark reddish brown color to the stock.

DANGLER STAINS.

I started using Homer Dangler stains in the 60's. These don't say HOMER but they work just fine. I like the reddish stain best.

Very satisfied

I really enjoyed working with these dyes. I got one of each color and there’s enough in each bottle to do a lot of testing and experimenting. I wound up using the golden brown and reddish brown on my Fowler. I don’t know that I’m sophisticated enough to incorporate the orange, but I’m glad I got it. Rich, warm colors all around. Highly recommend.

Danglers browning

Used the browning on my SMR kit. The barrel turned out a beautiful purple brown. The lock and others turned almost a golden brown. Would definitely use again.

Dangler Stains

Homer Dangler was a master craftsman and gun builder and was happy to share with all blackpowder enthusiasts what took him years to learn and develop. The stains and other finishing materials he offered for sale were the exact same products he used to finish his finely built custom longrifles. It's a credit to Homer that they are still used and appreciated so many decades later. Quality always survives.

Shipping

Liquid Shipping

Liquids will not ship in the kit box. There are different regulations that apply to the chemicals that we sell and they will need to ship ground, when the kits will ship USPS Priority Mail. Plus, it would really stink if a liquid were to leak on your beautiful new kit!

Order tracking

You will receive tracking information when your item ships. For kits, you will be contacted before shipment and after shipment so there is no need to worry about a kit box shipping when you are out of town. All other packages will ship when available and you will be emailed a tracking link.
