The kit was a lot of fun and only some minor inletting. The ram rod itself needed to be sanded since it would not fit into the stock but eventually wasn't a problem. Jim had mentioned in one of his videos that this is possible so not really surprised. The finishing was interesting, using the iron nitrate/tannic acid method. I had bought as small slab of curly maple from Woodcraft and experimented some on different staining techniques so the outcome wasn't totally a surprise. I really like the darker finish on this gun will see about the next kit.
