Rear Sight

Nicely shaped sight but I didn't take into account the flats on my 13/16 barrel would have removed some of the lines on the sight so I made one of similar design scaled down. I'll use it on another project though.

Colonial taller replacement rear sight

A little narrow. Was able to press it in over 2/3’s of the way through the dovetail with thumb pressure only. Very light tapping to finish it the rest of the way. Wouldn’t stay in place while shooting. Had to build up the contact surfaces of the sight to get a decent interference fit. Unusual, as I have had to file the bevels on other installations when installing sights on my other black powder rifles

Liquids will not ship in the kit box. There are different regulations that apply to the chemicals that we sell and they will need to ship ground, when the kits will ship USPS Priority Mail. Plus, it would really stink if a liquid were to leak on your beautiful new kit!

Woodrunner 45 cal carved ready to ship

I love that the gun was shipped in a wood crate. For fitting, i needed to remove a little of the barrel channel and a little wood from the lock area. Kibler has some great videos on YouTube to help with the finishing and filing. This was my first flintlock kit and it turned out beautiful. The lock has fired flawlessly so far and the gun is accurate.

Does your Brass need to be shiny?

Love this brass darkner. At first it looks like it's not working. Clean the brass with soapy hot water rinse and dry to remove oils and wax. Submerge the part in Jax let set until the desired antique finish is obtained then rub back with 0000 steel wool. Takes on a 18 century patina in just a short time. I usually wax over it when all finished but that's not really not necessary. Good product.
