Before you build
This Quick Ship Woodsrunner is ready to go. Here is everything that helps you build and finish it.
Building your Woodsrunner
- Read the manual first. The Woodsrunner instructions (PDF) and the Round-Faced English lock care sheet (PDF) are also on our PDF Instructions and Downloads page.
- Watch it step by step. The Woodsrunner section of our Kit Assembly Video Guide matches shop videos to the steps in your manual.
- Print the specs. The spec sheet (PDF) has every measurement in one place, and the Recommended Tool List (PDF) covers what to have on the bench.
- About the lock. This rifle uses our Round-Faced English lock. Our guide to Ketland and round-faced locks explains where that design comes from.
Watch other builders
- A Woodsrunner timelapse for beginners, and a builder's take on how easy the build is.
- A build series from first supplies through a beginner's intro to relief carving and iron nitrate and finishing.
- In the field: a Woodsrunner's first hunt.
- More builds and hunting videos are in the builder videos section of the guide.
These are other builders' videos. We haven't checked them, and your Kibler's manual comes first.
Made in Kensington, Ohio
- Every kit comes out of our shop in Kensington, in the same part of eastern Ohio where Jim grew up. Read how the shop got started, or meet the team.
- The design is ours and the machining is ours. The stock is CNC machined to close tolerances, and the lock and tang bolt holes come drilled and tapped. Relief and incised carving are cut on our CNC machine.
- It is patterned after an original frontier rifle believed to have been made in Virginia in the 1760s. See originals from the region in the Long Rifles of Virginia photo collection.
Considering other kits?
- The Woodsrunner is our most approachable longrifle and the one we point first-time builders to.
- Ready for a bigger project? The Colonial is the full-size longrifle of the same era. The Fowler is the English smoothbore of the period, and the Barn Gun is a plain rifle that comes in left or right hand. For later styles, see the Southern Mountain Rifle and J.K. Hawken.

Shipping
Liquid Shipping
Liquids will not ship in the kit box. There are different regulations that apply to the chemicals that we sell and they will need to ship ground, when the kits will ship USPS Priority Mail. Plus, it would really stink if a liquid were to leak on your beautiful new kit!
Order tracking
You will receive tracking information when your item ships. For kits, you will be contacted before shipment and after shipment so there is no need to worry about a kit box shipping when you are out of town. All other packages will ship when available and you will be emailed a tracking link.
