Works good Love my Woodsrunner,

Top notch quality rear sight

Although I haven't gotten around to shooting my Woodsrunner (still need to acquire some black powder), I got the tall rear sight as a backup in case the stock height rear sight has a significant POA/POI difference (shots going low on the target) so I wouldn't need to file the front sight down much, or atleast that's the plan. It looks great and cleaned up quickly with some files and sandpaper. I cannot wait to shoot this gun, but it still looks great hanging on the wall for now.

I bought the rear sight for my Kibler Southern Rifle Kit and it didn’t fit. The sight was too long for the dovetail. I used an old sight for the job.

Liquids will not ship in the kit box. There are different regulations that apply to the chemicals that we sell and they will need to ship ground, when the kits will ship USPS Priority Mail. Plus, it would really stink if a liquid were to leak on your beautiful new kit!

stock stain

stock came out much darker than shown in the video. Video shows stock turning a reddish color yet when I applied the stain and heated it as shown, it became a dark brownish color. Dark enough that you can't see the stripes unless outside in the sun light.

My Favorite Fowler

I'm at a loss for words. However, I shall endeavor put some thoughts to words. My first rifle I purchased from Jim Kibler was a 50 cal Virginia. When I got it, I had said "Wow". The CNC machining was incredible! All the parts just dropped into place! The hardest part was finishing the brass parts. When it was finished I took it to the range and shot a really nice group. Very minor adjustments to the sites put me in the black every time.
Then Jim came out with the fowler. I just couldn't resist it. The fine lines, curly maple stock and the three step barrel. The inletting finalized the point. I could use ball or shot depending on what I was hunting. Perfect I thought.
When the Fowler arrived, I was ecstatic and opened it right away. It was a beauty ( that's it's name now btw) and immediately put it together. I held it up and it just "dropped" into my shoulder, into perfect position. Anyone who has that "favorite " gun knows what I'm talking about. It's been thirty days now since I received Beauty and I'm still working on her. Still got to brown the barrel and finish sanding the brass parts. She was well worth the price and cheaper than my wife. She only barks when I want her to.
Once I finish "Beauty" I'll update and post pictures.
I highly recommend Jim Kibler and his products. You can get a "BEAUTY" too but you'll have to call her something else!

Kibler Ketland Flintlock

I love these little locks. I teach Kibler rifle building classes and it’s always a treat to watch students fire their Southern Mountain Rifles on the last day. They’ve heard the myth that “flintlocks are slower than caplocks” and are amazed just how fast their rifles fire when they trip the trigger the first time! Good geometry ensures that sparks are directed right into the center of the pan, resulting in quick ignition. The “bevel up” design also lets the flint scrape most of the frizzen face, making those showers of sparks possible.

I’m glad we can get Kibler Ketland locks individually now. I’m looking forward to incorporating them into guns I build from a blank from now on. Knowing that all the Kibler locks that go out are built in Jim and Katherine’s shop alone instills confidence that you will be getting a quality lock right out of the gate every time. Look no further if you need a later style flintlock for your builds!

The Fowler Will Not Disappoint

The fowler is my third Kibler kit and I continue to be impressed with the quality and incredible metal-to-wood fit. Even though so well designed and executed, there is plenty work for the kit builder to feel like the finished rifle is a partnership and something to be proud of. I used Jax juice on the brass, following Jim’s video and love the effect. Kudos team Kibler.
