Hello Kibler’s Longrifles
In answer to to your request on the Iron Nitrate Stain I am still trying to learn how to use it.
My first attempt was not very successful because I burned the wood by too much heat when I used the heat gun.
My second attempt was better but I did not get the reddish brown color that directions say I should get.
I did get a nice brown color on my second attempt.
I’m not sure what I am doing wrong but I’m going to try it on another piece of maple that I have.
I’m new to woodworking and staining so I’m thinking I’m not applying the heat correctly.
I believe with a little bit of practice I should be able to achieve the reddish brown color that I see Jim achieving in his videos.
