I used this on my woods runner. The iron nitrate is corrosive and caused rust to my barrel along the barrel Chanel. For this reason I recommend using a modern wood stain. The last thing you want is for your new gun to start rusting right from the start.
I put to coats on with a rag and added 5 or 6 hand rubbed coats and the finish came out great I worked on stock finish at the same time I worked on barrel browning and it worked out great to save some time because you have to let it dry every day but it’s worth it
First build is going great. I am taking my sweet time with this project. I am not confident in browning the lock but I have a spring vise and will keep working on other parts first. Used Walnut Oil and the finish is amazing.
