The Brown Bess is Coming — Here's What We Know So Far

We've been putting a lot of work into our upcoming Brown Bess Kit, and things are moving along well. The design phase is nearly complete — about all that remains is finalizing the lock, which is no small task. We're taking our time to get it right.

We had the opportunity to study an original 1756 Long Land Pattern musket, and frankly, we were impressed by how well made it is. That's the standard we're holding ourselves to. We're pulling out all the stops on this one.

What We Know So Far

  • Pattern: 1756 Long Land Pattern
  • Barrel length: 46 inches
  • Caliber: .775 (most likely)
  • Ramrod: Steel
  • Lock plate: Will be marked Tower.

We won't open ordering until we have everything figured out — we want to make sure it's right before we ask you to commit. We'll keep you posted as things develop.
