Hershel House spent his life in Woodbury, Kentucky — building rifles, forging knives, and keeping the crafts of the American frontier alive. The Hershel House Woodbury School Foundation carries that forward, teaching the next generation of builders the same hand skills that defined his life.

A unique pear stocked take down rifle. This piece has strong fowling piece influence in the stocking and hardware used. Design elements used create a very smooth and flowing piece. Wood used in this rifle was from a tree planted by Wallace Gusler, which subsequently blew down in a hurricane which struck Williamsburg. A very graceful rifle.
