Casting Sterling Silver Escutcheons

We are firing up the kiln again this week to cast more of the thumbpieces that we have been turning into pendants. Some folks have purchased one to use as originally designed, as a thumbpiece, but we also turn them into expressive and meaningful pendants and brooches. With an engraved initial in the center, it becomes a unique and personal gift.

For more information on how to make the molds that will create the waxes (which will then be used to do the actual investment casting) please check out the Mold Making category. There are a few options available, and for an extra $35, Jim will engrave an initial to personalize it. It's $160 for a plain necklace (on a sterling silver chain) or pin/brooch. It will come polished with a nice patina to bring out the details.

For the guys out there who like to wear jewelry, the owl mask can be put on a bulkier chain or leather cord too.

Orders placed by December 10th can be guaranteed to arrive for Christmas. I make them start to finish in the shop. I include a polishing cloth, gift box and information card with each pendant. Any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for looking.
