Hard Sugar/Rock Maple Round Mallet

The Kibler mallet is very helpful to properly seat the barrel, trigger guard, ramrod pipes, etc. In seating the trigger guard lower pin I failed to use the mallet and clamp to firmly seat the guard, just used my hands, and got frustrated when the pin failed to pierce through the guard connection. See the result in the attached photo. Neverftheless, I love this Woodsrunner and it reminds me to be more careful and listen to Jim's instructions!

It fits well in the hand, is the right weight, and has classic proportions. I like knowing there are Kibler stocks out there sourced from the same slab of maple.

I am a woodworker rather than a gun builder, so somewhat different skill sets. Have not done much with it yet, but seems to do the job in my short trials. Weight and grip feel very good. I was disappointed in the quality of the wood. Completely straight grain with substantial sap wood. I think it will function well, but expected much better curl from the pictures on the website and no sapwood at all. Maybe I will do a follow-up in 6 months after I've had a chance to really use it and learn it. This is a finesse tool meant for light cuts and not for hand chopping mortices and tenons.
