About this rifle
The Southern Mountain Rifle is the slim, iron-mounted rifle of the southern Appalachians, styled after the 1820s work of Whitson in western North Carolina. The .36 is a light small-game and target bore. It is set up with our double-set triggers, the stock is CNC machined to close tolerances, and the holes are drilled. The design is ours and the machining is ours. The hand work, and the satisfaction, are yours.

- 44" custom-profiled barrel. Breech .938", waist approximately .700", square-bottom rifling

- Buttplate approximately 1.375" wide and 4.5" tall
- Barrel has all sight dovetails cut, underlugs machined in, and a White Lightning style touch hole liner pre-installed. Breech plug fully machined, shaped, fit, and installed

This service is available as an add-on to a kit order, for $700. Your kit will arrive assembled, ready for you to customize and finish.
Finished rifles
We do not finish rifles in house. For additional finishing work on your Kibler rifle, we recommend the talented and experienced gunsmith Chuck Edwards. He can be reached at (573) 421-5098 and his page is on Facebook. He has finished many Kibler rifles and does fantastic work. Pricing varies with the work and should be discussed with Chuck.
Shipping
Liquid Shipping
Liquids will not ship in the kit box. There are different regulations that apply to the chemicals that we sell and they will need to ship ground, when the kits will ship USPS Priority Mail. Plus, it would really stink if a liquid were to leak on your beautiful new kit!
Order tracking
You will receive tracking information when your item ships. For kits, you will be contacted before shipment and after shipment so there is no need to worry about a kit box shipping when you are out of town. All other packages will ship when available and you will be emailed a tracking link.
