The J K Hawken is an excellent Kit. It is very quick to assemble and finish. I had some period style engraving done by Daniel Krauss. I hoghly tecommend this kit !

Ordered the quick ship rifle with a dark spot on the wrist. Got a good amount of money off. Couldn't even tell the dark spot was there after aquifortes.

I love my Woodsrunner! It was fun and easy to put together thanks to the Kibler youtube tutorials. Kibler’s iron nitrate worked perfectly on the maple stock. The historic houseparts tarnishing solution applied to the barrel and lock looks amazing. Much easier than browning it. I broke an underlug and Jim sent a new one fast. For a smoothbore 54 it’s extremely accurate and the lock action is so smooth. I heard the Kibler crew might make a Brown Bess kit in the near future, looking forward to that!

My carved Woodsrunner kit is simply phenomenal! I've built a few of the less expensive kits and was never satisfied with the quality or performance. Kibler doesn't disappoint—the craftsmanship and quality are top-notch. This is not a standoff look-alike, but a true replica in form, fit, and function. There is just the right amount of work required for cleanup and fitting of parts, making the finishing process fun, easy, and enjoyable. I loved it so much that I immediately bought a Fowler kit, which—as expected—is of the same quality. Not to mention, I'm now waiting on an SMR kit!

The kit went together easily. The wood was beautiful. The only issue was a small hairline split at the end of the stock. I sent a picture to customer service on the proper way to fix this. I didn’t hear back. I ended up using tight bond 3 and clamps. I’d purchase another rifle from them anytime.

I am very please with SMR. It went together easily. Barrel tang fit was perfect in walnut stock. Though it had minor chip on the fore end. I put a brass nose cap on it. I really like it. Be patient in fitting butt This is a very fine smoke pole.

Everything about the Woodsrunner and Kibler longrifles has exceeded my expectations.

I love the ease of putting this rifle together. I used the iron nitrate and maple stain and there finish. I think it looks beautiful. Haven’t shot it yet. Plan on buying another kit in the future.

His detail on these kits I have never had before. It shows he believes in making some of the best kits ever. I’m working on my third one this year and would highly suggest seeing his YouTube videos. I’ll be buying a fourth next year!

My advice is to quickly mail down a quick ship opportunity or it will be gone immediately. The Fowler turned out perfectly fit and a beautiful antique cherry finish. Service was seamless. Thanks.

I can’t believe how easy it was to assemble my Southern Mt Rifle. I’ve built several rifles from Track of the Wolf where I had to inlet the lock, trigger, buttplate, almost everything. On your rifle kit everything was done for me. All I had to do was finish the stock and metal parts. My only problem was trying to use iron nitrate stain to finish the stock. I’d never used it before and, although I followed the instructions to the letter, it turned out way too dark. And instead of changing to a reddish brown color after heating it like it was supposed to, it turned to a dark brown walnut color which is not what I wanted. My question now is how do I remove the iron nitrate stain to try to get the color I wanted? I won’t use that stain again. I will use the stain from Track of the Wolf like I always do. I found the iron nitrate too difficult to use and you can’t seem to control how it turns out. Also the wood stock was very rough with deep gouges in it that I could not sand out. Other than that the rifle kit was excellent. But I would appreciate any suggestions on how to sand the iron nitrate stain out so I can start over again.

Easiest to put together than the first two

I love that the gun was shipped in a wood crate. For fitting, i needed to remove a little of the barrel channel and a little wood from the lock area. Kibler has some great videos on YouTube to help with the finishing and filing. This was my first flintlock kit and it turned out beautiful. The lock has fired flawlessly so far and the gun is accurate.

I recently completed my Woodsrunner kit in .54 cal. it has a middle grade maple stock which in my opinion is more to the top of the line quality, thanks Jim! This is my 4th kit from Kibler's, 2 Colonials a SMR and my new Woodsrunner, all top of the line!

I don't think it shipped in one day but it was close. The packaging is some of the best I've seen in quite some time. There is obvious care and pride in what KLRs does. First SMR is done, fun to shoot, and won't be my last from KLR.

The Woodsrunner kit I ordered was fancy Maple carved stock. The stock was above grade and my expectations. Pictures to follow at some point. Kit arrived well packaged as you can see on YouTube videos. Fitting of parts was the best I have seen for kit type gun . Watch Jim Kimbers videos and follow his advice, you will have a Flintlock to be proud of and pass on to the next generation

Great customer service, I had an afterthought and wanted to add something to my order so I used the webstore chat and the item was easily added into my order.
The kit arrived safely and well packaged, nothing short of a miracle considering the distance it had to travel to northern Alberta Canada!!!
Hassle free shipping, I’ll mention it again, I’m in Canada, I paid the invoice, my Colonial kit was shipped directly with no notable hang up at Customs, shocking but true it is just that easy.
The kit itself was very straight forward to assemble, the parts fitment is impressive with very little material removal for the inletting.
If you go for a Colonial kit try and find a jewellers saw, it is very awkward to slot the barrel lugs without one!
All total I’m roughly 30-40hrs into building and finishing the rifle and it was an extremely rewarding project, I will be ordering SMR for my missus next!
