About the Southern Mountain Rifle

The Southern Mountain Rifle is the slim, iron-mounted rifle of the southern Appalachians, built after the 1820s work of Whitson in western North Carolina. It is a later style than our Revolution-era kits, lean and plain where the longrifles are brass-mounted and ornate, and it has a character all its own.

It is iron mounted and set up with our double-set triggers. The stock is CNC machined to close tolerances, the holes are drilled, and the parts need only minimal fitting. The design is ours and the machining is ours. The hand work, and the satisfaction, are yours.
