About the Appalachian Barn Gun

The Appalachian Barn Gun is a plain working rifle. It is the kind of gun that was built for use rather than show, with no buttplate, no nose cap, no entry pipe, no sideplate, and no patchbox. Jim drew this one directly from an original barn gun in a friend's collection, so it is true to the period in both spirit and detail.

Because the design is simple, this is one of the easiest builds we offer. Fewer parts and simpler assembly mean more time spent on the work itself. The design is ours and the machining is ours. The hand work is yours.
